It’s been quite a week here at Fandor! We welcomed a fantastic batch of classic slapstick films, our new Fandor | Festival Alliance Partner the Miami International Film Festival kicked off its thirty-second year of programming, we debuted our (ahem) hunkiest Criterion Picks yet and also shined a Spotlight on the Female Filmmakers of our FIX initiative. PHEW!
Sometimes with all that news (on top of other featured releases), great films new to the Fandor library can slip through the cracks, so ICYMI—in case you missed it—we’re taking a moment to highlight some of the other great films just begging to be viewed, reviewed and rated:
- Three Bechdel-Test- Allstar films by the fiercely independent Henry Jaglom about women and their habits, hopes and hang-ups
- Two (reluctant) coming-of-age shorts by French filmmaker François Jaros
- Several sex comedies by British cult director Stanley Long
- The incredible, unusual Poppy Shakespeare, adapted from the novel by Clare Allan
There’s plenty more new and exciting films to be found over in our recently added section, and we’ll be adding even more next week! Until then, happy weekend watching!
