Alexandra Juhasz
Alexandra J. Juhasz (b. 1964) is a Professor of Media Studies at Pitzer College. She is best know for teaching a class in Fall 2007 titled "Learning From YouTube". She is a feminist academic and AIDS videomaker. She is the author of critical writing about alternative media. Juhasz has a B.A., American Studies and English, 1986 from Amherst College and a PhD in Cinema Studies from New York University. Juhasz produced The Watermelon Woman. Her work has screened at the Sundance and Toronto Intl. Film Festivals, and women's, and gay and lesbian film festivals around the world. She received extensive TV news coverage immediately after the launch her course "Learning From YouTube".This included a September 20 spot on CNN "American Morning", a September 28 spot on "Fox and Friends" and later on November 8, comments on the writer's strike on KNX News Radio.
