Vera Pearce
Vera Pearce (1895–1966) was an Australian stage and film actress. She was born in Broken Hill and moved to Adelaide, working on stage as a dancer. After making her film debut with The Shepherd of the Southern Cross she went to England in 1914 but returned to Australia for a time. She then went back to England for the remainder of her career. For a number of years she had an affair with promoter Hugh D. McIntosh. She was also the niece of future Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt.
