A beautifully crafted film with some outstanding performances. It tells a very human story with fully realized characters, but it is also a story about community and art. The choir can only achieve harmony by being open and honest with themselves and each other. It also a meditation on the relationship between art and organized religion. Its Oscar nomination was well-deserved.

What a wonderful movie, the best I have watched in a long time!!!
This beautiful well-acted film made sophisticated me cry three times. I cared about every single one of the characters. I highly recommend it, particularly if you love music's power to bring people together. Bravo and thank you.
This is a favourite that always makes me smile, laugh, sing and a bit and yes, shed a tear.
Beautiful, captivating, moving and intellectually engaging, even though a bit corny in some ways. Definite thumbs up!
I found this a fine movie The characters are endearing and seem true to life in a small and remote town. The actors are fine. Michael Nyqvist, who plays lead character Daniel Daréus in this film, is known for playing the journalist in the Swedish version of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy. I highly recommend this.
Incredible film. Very life affirming.
The critic in me was more than pleased with the acting and casting and all the technical work and the director and the camera work.
The soft side of me was touched and pleased. It warmed me, it somehow delivered the hope that love and decency and compassion and concern do dwell among us and comfort us when things get rough. And truth and gentleness also survive. And forgiveness. And joy.
Beautiful film from beginning to end, a torching tale of a tortured sole whom only finds salvation in music, learns theres more to life, a celebration of love, life and music
Kay Pollak has done a wonderful job bringing the viewer into a small, snowy town for the return of Daniel, a maestro of renown. The film grabs you and never lets go as the scenes are propelled along by the settings as much as by the characters. It's a powerful film about love and community. The ending is superb and I still get chills thinking of it.
Extraordinary film. It has so many tantalizing elements, it's funny, it's sad, romantic, poetic. A symphony of heightened emotions.
Touching and wonderful, with tremendous integration of music and story.
A potentially great film for reasons others have identified but, for me at least, it was spoiled by an excess of sentimentality.
Treacly and predictable in the extreme.
Wow that was the cheesiest film I have ever seen, like cheese wiz cheesy. If you enjoy cliches, bad acting, poor directing, and zero plot then this is the film for you :)

Very well done and with a good cast and script,oh and the music was great.
great movie!
A GREAT MOVIE!!! THX
Beautiful acting, cinematography and pacing. The characters were rich and the story was intriguing. I found this film very refreshing and wonderful and I HIGHLY recommend it!
This was a beautiful interesting sort of slice-of-life film with different aspects of Swedish culture reflecting in upon themselves. Lots of twists too.
all time favorite!!
Surprisingly powerful--the flashbacks, the relationships Daniel has with fellow musicians, and the music itself move the story along at a breathtaking pace.
A bit heavy handed especially at the end but I pretty much loved the film. Perhaps singing in choirs for a good part of my life makes me especially open to this story but the acting was spot on and it had the emotional pull without too much melodrama. Sweet and moving.
Wonderful movie. I can highly recommend it. Sweet, moving and powerful.
