At times understated, at times brutal, this film toys with a classic gangster machismo reminiscent of Drive or Taxi Driver with tenderly original moments and deviations. A rather intense film for fans of Pulp Fiction styles and depths of darkness with sinister coolness.

A very fine film. All the characters are well drawn. Seems very real- the service industry aspects. Solid acting, good locations, direction, photography- the music is a little weak. Draws you in the further you watch. But the central character is not the hero he is made out to be, he is street-smart and a winner in the end but weak in character and cruel- smartest in the pack- where everyone else is a wolf. Disappointing ending for me- too morally ambivalent- and I don't care what happens to him either. Almost a great movie, tho, if it weren't so cynical.
odd & cool sometimes odd & dumb but cool wins_the guy is edgy i super intense_& you can always feel it_really liked his stripper girlfriend_gee dumb i don't think so_& his rich ride who flew off to somewhere sad_his 1st bed ride was a bit much for me but it fits in the whole_& i guess she scored higher_the only bad thing for me is i hate the music
