A routine elevator ride becomes a living hell for its three trapped passengers.

This got THIRD place at a festival? This is the most distinctly "auteur" that films can get. So sharp, so fresh, so clever and fun. Lots of smooth, long takes, such an incredibly unique and confident tone achieved with the dissonant elevator music mixed in with the quirky mysterious elevator man. No matter what kind of reception Natali may get for his features, this is proof that you have to be so ridiculously talented to be able to succeed in mainstream movie making. I didn't like Natali's Haunter at all (although I loved Splice), but so much can happen from concept to screen in the making of a feature film. This short is proof that he has an innate gift with cinematic language.
