So informing to see the human side of what we Americans allow our corporate overlords to do around the world. Thanks Ms. Poitras for your bravery!

The idea of a free election taking place in an occupied society with so many politically diverse factions who do not trust each other seems naive and predictive of failure. The disconnect between the ideologues in Washington and the reality of the Iraqui Street is hard to accept because it is so implausible. Where is the sophistication and learning on the part of the American government that will risk so much life and energy in an area about which they knew so little. The filmmaker transmits the feeling of desperation on the side of the American coalition and resignation and perseverence on the part of the Iraquis who have to live this nightmare on a daily basis without a light at the end of the tunnel.
She really lays it out beautifully.
Early perspective of normal humans trying to live in an abnormal situation.
I've wanted to see this film for a while and finally found it here. I like that we get to see the occupation through the eyes of the people living it. Very good.
