Very well-made film. Kept me interested during the entirety of the film. The acting was exceptional from all the actors but the performance of Emilie Dequenne was the best. Tahar Rahim proves himself again to be a wonderful French actor even better than his performances in Love and Bruises and A Prophet. The scene in the car as she slowly breaks down is so moving and so real to the experience of depression. I would have given it 5 stars but the ending is so tragic and I had a hesitation to give all 5 stars. So 4 stars it is.

Interesting to see how vulnerable this woman was to be manipulated to the point of mass destruction, not just her own. A very sad story about a fragile and broken mind, and the one main flaw in the film is that we don't get enough insight into the construction and destruction of her mental make up.
A tragedy unfolding slowly, grimly. In the end generating depression in the viewer. Three stars just because it's so well made. Reluctant to give it more because the tragedy was so depressing.
A really compelling portrayal of the slow disintegration of a woman's identity within a male - dominated family structure.
AMAZING film on so many levels. Very, very , sad. Hard to say I loved it, but I did.
4 Stars- Very intense sad drama, worth watching. The cinematography is ugly though. This is a Wide Screen movie but for some reason it was decided to cover either the right or left side of the shot in numerous scenes. Makes you feel like an outsider, as if you are peeking in instead of being there. Good soundtrack.
