Really engaging, informative and entertaining doc. The production techniques are dated but gloriously executed but that is not the point. It has stunning effects and tells a quintessential story of the souls journey.
Wildly beautiful rare piece of work! I'm impressed.
Uninformative and pretentious.
Certainly the trippiest exposition of the Dharma I have seen! worth your time and true to the basic teachings.
Enjoyed the gorgeous, trippy eye-candy. Can’t say I learned much about Tibetan art, but then the film’s intent was more likely to create a mystical aura in which an outsider could begin to appreciate the higher meaning of the religious icons. The editing was too fast to really concentrate on the incredibly fascinating details of the images, and often the visible details seemed incongruous with the narrative. Still, enthralling and beautiful viewing.
Irrelevant. Trying to be innovative but too pretentious without content or even worse, using TIbet just for the sake of finding something to exercise the traditional Western sport of exotification of 'the Other'. Anoying.
Gorgeously made but in terms of educational value, the visual style is more than a little distracting. The information presented is basic, which is suitable for one who is relatively new to the philosophy of Buddhism. Visually, I find that it moves a little too fast for the mind to absorb fully, so the effect is more titillating than contemplative. Still, I can't deny that it is pretty and exhilarating.
A clever and fun bit of early 70's esoterica.
Very instructive and mesmerising at once.
Replayed this several times - very informative. I've found a lot of Tibetan texts a little too esoteric to get through comfortably, so this was a really nice semi-in-depth introduction.
well made... informative, brief and to the point....
