The Tree That Remembers2002
Sorry. This film is not currently available.
In 1992, a young Iranian student hanged himself on the outskirts of a small Ontario town. Having escaped the Ayatollah's regime and found a new home in Canada, he could not escape his past. In THE TREE THAT REMEMBERS, Masoud Raouf documents the experiences of Iranian-Canadians, former political prisoners like himself, who were active in the Iranian democratic movement and continue to struggle with the past.

A sensitive insight into not only the particular atrocities of the Iranian Revolution, but also the nature of being an outsider and immigrant in a foreign land. Thoughtfully crafted. Plenty of stimulating questions to keep you thinking long after the film has ended.
