The Vampire1957
While at a lab, Dr. Paul Beecher grabs the wrong pills and takes them home, not knowing that they are made from the blood of vampire bats. After mistakenly taking one of the pills, he is instantly addicted and must take one pill every day. Each time he takes a pill he turns into a hairy insane killer, who doesn't remember what he's done, except as a vague dream. Local police and scientists work frantically to try to piece the puzzle together in the hope that they can stop THE VAMPIRE.

Yes, you can create a fairly effective low-budget horror film with almost no special effects. A little make-up, putty and a cross-fade is enough to complete the transformation.
Plot Synopsis: a small town doctor gets hooked on "bat pills" and starts killing people.
This film follows almost none of the conventional vampire folklore. No crosses, garlic or stakes are needed - a regular bullet will do.
Don't blink once the Vampire is wounded or you will miss the ending.
