This is a fun, interesting movie filled with clever dialogue, real characters and genuine moments between couples and friends. The movie does a good job of mining relationships for some very relatable material. I love seeing the different viewpoints and feel that because of the varied characters, there is something for everyone in here. Definitely recommend this movie. It's a good one to watch with friends or a S.O. because it leaves you with a lot to think about and talk about afterwards. I also really liked the actors who played Dave and Bree in the film.

I feel like my friends and I were cast in this movie--it totally captures the issues we deal with. I loved the different ways couples are portrayed based on the perspective each character had of their role in the relationship. Five stars, I'd like to see more by this writer.
What a fun flick!
Bree and Ryan's exchange at the last scene I believe was the most LA culture driven portion of the film. Though, perhaps that mentality is more common than I am exposed to. Otherwise, you see this sort of interaction internally and externally with couples everywhere. It was unfortunate for the characters that it took extreme circumstance for them to discuss their actual feelings with one another, though I did enjoy how Brad took a stage left exit after his near-adultary interaction.
Really hope to see more work from Courtney on Fandor!
'loved it!! I want to see more films like this! that aren't the typical Jen-George-Jen-Chan-Brad vehicles. I was really surprised by this frank look at boring married existence. And it was hilarious- there were some great lines! The conclusion was more than I could ask for..
There is a film for every audience. Aging and "narcississtic, hipster L.A. couples" (thank you, Kim T.!) are no exception to this axiom. Some may find this titillating, and it's always fun to reminisce about the games people play as children. Overall though, if you're really tripping hard on nostagia and need to relate to being sad for their lost youth (and yours and mine as well) this is definitely your film.
Another amateur film exploring narcissistic, hipster L.A. couples and their troubled relationships.
Quite surprised at how much this drew me in!
This is a well written indy film that looks at several LA thirty-something straight couples with insight and humor. A bit creaky at times, but very enjoyable and highly recommended.
The slow introduction revealed the little games, the dishonest thinking, the whining, the criticizing that takes place in relationships under stress. The portrayal of the men seems less kind than that of the women. The opportunity for "seven minutes in heaven" allowed deeper commitment to show up and the lasting message seems to be that sex, while fun, lacks satisfaction without love. The casting was pretty good though there were a few times I felt like I was watching actors playing their parts. The examination of several couples looked at the complexity of love and trust from a number of viewpoints. Sex can be fun but it's not everything. Nice to get the reminder.
Films like this make me really glad there are novels written in ages past to preserve a record of a less vapid form of humanity.
I loved this movie. Everything about it was great. However, I need to say something about the ending with Lisa and Josh. There are spoilers, here, that I don't usually include in a review; but I must get this off my chest since I am probably the only reviewer who thinks this. I can not stop believing that Lisa and Brad actually did it in the closet. They had enough time. Brad jumped all over Lisa from the beginning, and only about one minute was actually shown with them in the closet. There were six minutes left to do it and get themselves presentable for their exit. Also, Lisa did not know Brad before that night. It was probably easier having sex with a stranger than with a friend. Finally, I believe they had sex because Lisa would never tell her husband what happened during those seven minutes. Everyone else recanted their oath and told what happened, but Lisa never did. She could have said that she and Brad just made out and that was it. Josh would probably have accepted that, but she remained silent. Luckily for her, she was able to remind Josh about an old fling he had with an office worker year earlier. With that, Josh agreed to stop grilling Lisa about Brad, if Lisa would not bring up his old fling with Jennifer anymore. I think, Lisa dodged a bullet, here, and was able to save her marriage ~ a marriage that for some reason became stronger after the 7 minutes in heaven. Could it be because she finally had sex for the first time in a very long time??
Bobby, it's so interesting, the case you make for their having had sex while in the closet. I buy it! But I think that was morally outrageous enough to me when I was writing it that I decided they went far in the closet but didn't actually have intercourse.
I loved this movie. Which came as a surprise after Kim T.'s comment about it being an amateur film about narcissistic, hipster L.A. couples. I was intrigued by the title and the 7 Minutes In Heaven challenge sounded fun, so I watched. Glad I did! Not only was it funny, I keep thinking about the dialogue and observations. The soundtrack is amazing -- please make it available for download!
